DATA RESEARCH TECHNICIAN/GEOTECHNICIAN
Geomap® Company currently has an entry level position available in its Plano, Texas office. Primary responsibilities shall be to assist petroleum geologists in the research and gathering of oil and gas information and data. Duties may also include posting information to maps and/or data bases. Experience or familiarity with well logs, production data, subsurface mapping and/or GIS, mapping or cross-section software is a plus but not a requirement.
Qualifications
Completion of some college level geology, earth science or GIS courses is preferred.
Dependable and results oriented.
Accustomed to word processing and spreadsheet software.
Acquainted with Internet search techniques.
Knowledge of oil and gas terminology is a plus.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent organizational and communication (oral and written) skills.
Self-motivated, while able to work as a part of a team.
Meticulous eye for detail and the ability to ask questions when unsure.
High level of accuracy.
This position may involve climbing, stooping, bending and lifting up to 30 pounds.
