BUSINESS MANAGER
Geomap® Company, is seeking an individual to oversee a staff of six dealing primarily with accounting and sales support. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated hands-on manager. Excellent communication and human relations skills are required. This position is responsible for the efficient performance of accounting functions and must be experienced in the areas of financial reporting, forecasting and analysis.
The candidate we seek should have a good working knowledge of computer programs and experience with Solomon software is a plus. Strong computer skills are required. A BBA or BS degree in Accounting/Finance and at least 5 years of operational accounting and management experience is required. Experience with payroll reporting including 401(k), sales and franchise taxes is preferred.
Oversight includes business analysis and may require the monitoring of departmental or project economics and timelines, reporting results to the CEO. The Business Manager may be called upon to evaluate and recommend procedures to streamline systems or processes, both in the accounting department and companywide.
This position shall also interface with the company's retirement plan investment committee and regularly report retirement plan performance, be responsible for plan amendments and coordinate with the investment committee on any recommended changes to the plan. The Business Manager shall also be responsible for all property taxes, insurance requirements and real estate leases, ensuring that company costs are in line with comparables. The manager shall take the lead in maintaining company documentation including policy, procedure and emergency preparedness manuals.
The manager shall have a working knowledge of and be familiar with sales and marketing, research, operations analysis, statistics, auditing, tax, purchasing and human resources, but be a specialist in finance and accounting.
